What is emotional crisis

An emotional crisis can appear in our lives for many different reasons. Also known as a ‘breakdown’ – which therapists often refer to as a breakthrough. It is likely that you have reached a point in your life where the underlying issue has to be addressed.

Reaching an emotional crisis point in life is sometimes described as hitting ‘rock bottom’ and often marks an important point whereby a person finally reaches a point of surrender and seeks support from professional. Reaching an emotional crisis is often the ‘turning point’; life can no longer continue the way it has previously, something new needs to be tried. An emotional crisis is often linked to what is known as an ‘existential crisis,’ whereby an individual loses meaning in their life, and what they ‘thought’ would make them fulfilled and happy, is simply not providing this any longer.

An emotional crisis can present in different forms; such as a relationship hits a break down point, you are now seriously questioning previous strongly held belief systems, your sense of identity no longer fits with who you believed you were. During an emotional crisis an individual’s emotions are aroused, triggered and flare up, forcing them to look deeper into who they are and what they want in life; indeed the person ‘re visions’ the part they play in life.

How RECORE treats emotional crisis

At RECORE we use a holistic and person-centred treatment method to help you recover from an emotional crisis and live life in a more productive way. Our Programmes incorporate a combination of talking therapies, sometimes-psychiatric support is required, medical treatment and complimentary therapies to help relax and heal your mind and body from the effects of the emotional crisis. These treatments are tailored specifically to help identify where and how the emotional crisis has developed in your life and help you learn new skills that will enable you to make a full recovery and prevent a reoccurrence of another emotional crisis.

We will explore the impact this emotional crisis is having on your life and how ‘your belief system and life style’ might relates to your health and wellbeing. By exploring your ‘belief’ system and life style our treatments at RECORE will provide you with necessary skills required to change unhealthy or harmful behaviour and beliefs that may have developed. At RECORE rest, healthy nutrition, relaxation and fun will be a healing part of your treatment. We call this method of treatment a ‘prescription for life’. RECORE programmes work at teaching you new life changing skills that help to build resilience, take better care of yourself and incorporate a healthier life style pattern.
